Dear Students,
I would like to make a scrapbook about our London trip. What do you think about this idea? Have you seen a scrapbook before?
"Scrapbook" is an English term that defines a book of cut-outs or the technique of personalizing a photo album. Saving memories or cut-outs in a diary or pieces of wrapping paper are ways of scrapbooking.
The scrapbook, or scrapbooking, consists of a multitude of processes such as cutting, pasting, or collage to create a composition of memories through photographs. This fun decorating pastime also applies to cards, poems, invitations or anything that you can imagine.
Moving away from simple photographs, scrapbooking embellishes the memories with adornments of all kinds (stickers, buttons, ribbons, special papers, dried flowers, string, rivets etc.) and different styles, from the most sophisticated to the most simple, depending on personal taste.
Everyday, the number of scrapbooking people increases. It is estimated that more than 25 million people practice this hobby in the United States alone. In fact, the USA has the longest tradition and development of this hobby. Recently, it has begun to gain popularity in Europe. Although, scrapbooking's origins date back several centuries, its popularity only began 15 years ago.
I will make the scrapbook, don't worry (however if you would like to make your own, please feel free to do so!). But, I need your help. I need you to save cut-outs, photos, tickets to museums and events as well as transportation tickets and please add your commentary....in English!
I was thinking of starting with the previous work... like how you earned the money for the trip. I need magazine clippings, non-winning raffle tickets, and other things that have been important to the process. This is a group effort! Thank you in advance for your help!
